We Animals: project by Jo-Anne McArthur

Jo-Anne is the Canadian photographer creator of the project We Animals, carried out with passion and courage: inspiring role model (for me, but I hope also for many other people), by about ten years she travels around the world taking pictures of what many people do not want to see, too many ignore, and many other would like to keep relegated to a sphere of silent indifference.

Sometimes words are not enough but a photograph is suffice: real, raw, live, shows the reality without finery. The photographs of Jo-Anne give “voice” to those who don’t have it and build a bond between us “human animals” and other living beings, the ones we use for various purposes, almost without realizing it.
