An unexpected and a little bit sudden trip took me flying to Brianza, an area of Lombardy at north of Milan.
We were based in Cantù, at the historic house of a friend of ours, where we spent nice evenings together, among faded photos, card games with complicated rules, drawbacks and laughter.
The first day was maybe the most intense, thanks to a nice sunny and warm weather. Left by car in the morning, we went to the mountains up to Colle del Ghisallo, in the municipality of Magreglio, where there are the Sanctuary of Madonna del Ghisallo and the Museum of Cycling.
Amazing sight of the mountains in front of us, deep blue against the clear blue of the sky. I am always delighted by the beauty that nature can give us. If you are near Como, I recommend you do a little trip up there.

After the lunch at the chalet complete with a mushroom polenta (very good but perhaps not properly appropriate for the summer) we went to Bellagio, a town overlooking Lake of Como.
The streets were full of (beautiful) blond-haired foreign tourists and the shops on the lake had prices really too high. Despite this, I found Bellagio really lovely!
Do not let the chaos or the tourist atmosphere stop you, but hike through narrow side streets or up the stone stairs: you will find enchanting views perfect as postcards.
