And after the wave of cold and snow arrived even here in Rome, which looks like Winterfell all white and motionless, spring finally seems to have arrived. Out bulky sweaters and boots to the knee, welcome back light trousers and sneakers.
Usually I have many good intentions about style when the good weather comes back: I always say that I will dress with more zeal, I’ll pay attention to the correct combinations, I’ll try to be original and wear dresses more feminine, not just jeans and Converse, but invariably I wear always the usual things just focusing my attention on T-shirts, for whom I have an adoration that knows no time limits (my brain does not register the fact that I’m not 16 anymore).
In short, this year I’ve decided, again, I have to dress in a more reasoned way. I’m not saying I’ll become an outfit maniac as the notorious fashion bloggers (for whom I’ve felt a bit of tenderness, always careful not to wear the same clothes twice), but however in my limits I’ll try to express my aesthetic taste through clothing.
Vintage style, romantic, colorful but not too showy. Put this way it’s easy, but in the clothing stores I find anything but what I like. I hate the tawdry things, the inscriptions on clothes (especially when accented with glitter and pajettes), the fabric too poor (see H&M)… then I’ve seen the new lookbook of Promod and it has been love at first sight!
The spring lookbook is decidedly cool, colorful, slightly vintage, so sweetly girly but also very comfortable (I’m one of those who don’t believe we must necessarily suffer to be beautiful).
