Ciao! I’m Sabrina (as the movie with Audrey Hepburn), born in Rome in the late 80s, raised in the capitale on pasta, mangas, and books.

Naturally curious, I’ve always been passionate about stories (in every form), art & culture (bring me to a museum and I’ll be happy), and exploring new places (‘travel more’ is always at the top of the list).

With a background in Classical Humanities and a B.A. in East Asian Studies (major in Japanese), I’ve always been a writer at heart (I self-published a short novel  – the one of the many I started I managed to complete) but I ended up working in marketing (but this is another story).

In Sept 2013, after years of frustration and underpaid jobs, I left Italy with a one-way ticket to rainy Vancouver together with my partner.

On the other side of the world, we started our Canadian life in a young city on the ocean, surrounded by mountains and the lush nature of the Pacific NorthWest, basically the opposite of what we were used to in our hometown.

4 years later, we’re still in Vancouver, the city we made our home (but now ‘home‘ is a relative concept). We talk in English more than Italian and we enjoy walking in the woods, especially thanks to Peter Parker, the rescue dog we adopted in 2015. The experience of living abroad is, of course, a big part of what I write about.

Currently, I’m a freelance digital marketing communications specialist and a content producer.

MISO JOURNAL is a collection of stories, memories, interviews, what I find inspiring, and everything I like to put up here, including videos. I often change my mind about this blog and start new passion projects. Bear with me.

Get in touch for collaborations, interviews, if you want to share your story, or just to have a chat. I’d love to hear from you! 🙂
